TEXTILE
INDUSTRY
: ADVANTAGES
|CASE
STUDIES |
Textile
effluent is generated mainly from the Dyeing and Washing
Process. Of the two, the Dyeing effluent has a high polluting
load and hence requires specialized handling.
Conventional effluent treatment plants segregate these streams
as they ineffective in treating combined streams.
Rochem offers you a single system that handles raw, untreated,
combined effluent directly without any significant pretreatment
thereby totally eliminating the addition of chemicals. Thus
you do not need to invest in new ETP or operate the existing
ETP. Most importantly, sludge generation from ETP is totally
eliminated.
ADVANTAGE
-
Application on Raw Equalized Effluent, thereby avoiding
high Chemical & Energy costs of conventional ETP's
-
Recovery
of Dyes and Salts using lon Selective Membranes
-
Reuse of RO Permeate in process, enhancing the Dyeing
Process
-
Now
make Effluent treatment a payback using Rochem's Membrane
Module Systems
-
Also
helps in capacity Enhancement as existing ETP structure
need not be upgraded thereby avoiding investment in
land and civil works
-
Ability
of Rochem system to effectively handle high TDS. COD/BOD
effluents means that water recovery is possible from
one stream. Also reduction in volume for evaporation
saves high cost.

Background
|
The
combined effluent from the unit was being treated
in the existing ETP. However, the treated effluent
had a high TDS content. Besides, there was a requirement
to reduce effluent loads through wastewater recovery
for recycle/reuse. |

Features :
The installed system treats the input wastewater to a level
of quality where it can be reused within the factory while
reducing the hydraulic load of the wastewater discharge.
Most importantly, the combined raw
effluent can be directly fed into the PT-RO system thus
resulting in significant savings in cost of chemicals like
FeSO4, lime, polyelectrolytes etc.
This system has operated successfully for the past 1.8 years
and has completed 14,000 operating hours with > 100% average
output as per design.
